After a very tiring day, its time to cook something for my darling hubby. The weather is turning as beautiful as one can wish, its raining here in Pune. A perfect time to have some thing spicy,,, so i am planning to cook Chana and puri..:-)
Black Chickpeas (Kala Chana) : 250 gm
Onions : 2 medium size
Garlic : 5 – 6 cloves
Ginger : Small piece
Chana Masala : 1 1/2 tbs
salt : As needed
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tbs
Red Chilly Powder : 2 tbs
Coriander Powder: 1 tbs
Oil : 3 tbs
Cumin Seeds: 1 tbs
Wash black chickpeas and soak it for at least 4 to 5 hrs. After that boil them with salt until l they get half cooked.
Take a Pan put some oil, add cumin seeds, garlic and onion and fry it untill it gets golden brown color. Put coriander powder, turmeric powder, chana masala and salt. Fry this for about 2-3 minutes, or till the oil starts separating out.
Then add half cup of water and cook for about 4 minutes, close lid of pan. In between mash some black chickpeas.
Now add all chickpeas(mashed one also) in pan, adjust the thickness of gravy and add coriander leaves.
Black Chickpeas Curry is ready to eat, it will go with roti, puri or rice.
